IndieGoGo is a a collaborative way to fund ideas. FUTA documentary project is a collaborative way to film a round-the-world cyclist, so it was a natural move from us to build a campaign site under the wings of IndieGogo. Help us finish this film, donate if you can afford to do so or just be inspired by other cool project on the site.
If you want to get more involved in Film Until The Ashes, and receive some cool prizes check out our fundraising video below and then take a look at http://www.webackyou.com to find out more. Help us finish this film!
Apologies for not posting this Video earlier. This edit on Oli playing Cricket @ Hagia Spohia (Ayasofya) was “born” months ago. Just a few weeks after Serpil (the Turish director) arrived to Budapest to start her 2 months exploration of the editing room and the Hungarian capital. Serpil has returned to Istanbul since and continues to work on the film from Turkey.
Our next mission is to raise enough money to film the last leg of the journey ourselves. We will keep you posted. Our webackyou and/or kickstarter campaign is on the way soon.
Anantha, the director of Film Until The Ashes in Hyderabad
Anantha filmed 6 hours of footage and officially became co-director of the Cycling to The Ashes documentary project. Thank you! Hope we meet at the wrap party
When we started making this film over 6 months ago, we had a vision about making a documentary together with passionate filmmakers around the world who want to finish this project with us on NO budget. We may never meet some of the filmmakers, but we are part of a DIWO (do it with others) community and it inspires us every day. Wow, thank you Amit and Kapil. You are making it real.
cyclingtotheashes — April 30, 2010 — “I was cycling along the road towards Sangli when a motorbike stopped and asked me what I was doing. The two guys, Amit and Kapil, offered to help with our film project ) by making a short film while I was in their town. we did just that, and here is the film.”
Lot has happened since our last update. Serpil began her 2 months Budapest editing journey and spends hours at our post production headquarter Post Edison every day. We also submitted our “unfinished” film to 2 themed film festivals. A 15 minutes version the Bicycle Film Festival, NY and a 5 minutes cut to the Road Junky Travel Film Festival in Berlin.
Oli finished the African leg of his journey and safely arrived in Mumbai, India last week. We cannot wait to receive the footage from perhaps the most challenging part of his biketrip. We will edit and post videos from Egypt and Sudan soon.
Please check the new Film Until Ashes youtube channel and the Road Junky Travel Film Fest edit. Big up to Miki @ the Avid master and Serpil who is not afraid to throw some scenes into the kuka (Hungarian word for dustbin).
Be part of Oli Broom’s expedition to The Ashes. Film Oli if you see him.
If you have a camera and want to participate in making a documentary, feel free to help us out. Fill your batteries, grab your camera and film Oli visiting your city, town, village or document him playing and promoting cricket.
